Updating the bios hp and compaq
If you are using this guide for replacing the keyboard, you have to remove only three (yellow) screws. Place the keyboard so you can access the cable connector underneath.
In G50 and G60 the keyboard screws are located in the battery compartment. You have to unlock the connector and release the cable before removing the keyboard. The white clip must stay attached to the connector base. Move the cover towards the display to separate from the top cover. Turn the laptop upside down and disconnect two antenna cables from the wireless card.
I linked to service manuals at the end of this guide. It is not necessary to remove the memory and hard drive covers. Remove four (red) screws securing the keyboard cover. Disconnect the video cable connector from the motherboard. Remove these seals with a sharp object and remove screws found under the seals.
How can I fix this problem or how can I re-install BIOS for this laptop? When I powered up, the fan would come on for a few seconds, the screen would display the HP logo, and show " Press ESC to enter BIOS setup " and then shutdown, no matter what key I pressed (ESC, F8 , F10).
I called HP service and of course it was out of warranty, and after no luck over the phone, they suggested that I return it for repair for 0.
In the following guide I explain how to remove and replace damaged LCD screen on HP G50/G60/G70 notebooks. Remove the inverter board from the cover and disconnect one connector from the right side. My HP G50 notebook didn’t have the webcam installed and the webcam cable was taped to the display cover.
I’m replacing it on a HP G50 but all disassembly steps should be almost the same or at least very similar for HP G60 and G70. If you have a HP G60/G70 notebook, most likely it came with the webcam. If you are replacing it, you’ll have to transfer the left and right mounting brackets to the new screen.
Only now have computers been updated to a point where a bad flash can be fixed at home. Some use a jumper that has to go between posts where the power supply is disconnected.
